1965 Corvette

It is so loud you can't hear anything but engines roaring... we saw Dina and Deandra Jay, who was taking pictures of the cars...and the event...

Boston Day 2

We went first to eat, and then to the FREEDOM TRAIL...to..the Old North Church...
It was a building that....if you didn't know, or look at signs, you would think it was just down an alley and to some old buildings!
We had a guide, who we picked up along the way..it was funny, to just stop the bus and pick up a guy, but he was really cool. He told us all about the Night that was made famous, about Paul Revere, and the church, and the lanterns. We had church service inside since it was Sunday, and it was filled up. The Preacher was on a pulpit above us, and we sat in these little booths, that had old heaters inside. They said that the church was not 'heated' and so families would gather up and sit inside their family booths and warm up..

Tori with her teacher, Diane Golden. Some of the OLD architecture...and part of Erica's head.

Then we went to Bunker hill, which actually isn't Bunker Hill, but it had an obelisk, which I only went up about 1/2 way. It was too steep and winding, and by the time I got 1/2 way, the kids were alreay coming down. There is only 1 way up and 1 way down, and it is very narrow....and dark. There are small holes up along the way, and pidgeons are nesting inside too.

The CLASS......
Hooray to Paul Revere!

8th Grade Trip 2006 - First Day Boston

This is early in the morning April 29th...going to BOSTON! We're off on a 6 day trip to Boston, NY, Philadelphia and Washington DC. We're at the Long Beach airport.

Tony R, Emma, Meghan, Myself, and Sean all ready 'bright eyed' and ready to go! We got up so early to get to the airport and were almost the last ones there! Sigh..oh well. It is no biggie.

We made it and anxious to get on the plane!

After getting to Boston, we were joined by Sheila our guide that we had the last time we were in the East Coast, met us there, and took us on the bus to the Pizza place and then on to the IMAX and the Aquarium. However, our bus driver was lost, and we ended up driving all over the place in BOSTON.....we were tired, and by the time we got to the IMAX, it was about 15 minutes before the show was to begin!

Wales 2002

This is my good friend, Barrie and her husband David. I have known Barrie since we were in Junior High School . She sat behind me in class, and used to giggle and make me laugh all the time.

Her husband, David, is Welsh, and right now, they live in Wales...We went to see them in 2002, and we had a nice stay for 9 days with them! Tori was only 10 and we had so much fun going to see the beautiful countrysides, and rolling green hills. Barrie makes me laugh and keeps me humble..she's a wonderful friend and I am so glad that we've renewed our friendship!

This is Tori in their backyard. Barrie said that the previous owners had a horse, and this is where the horse was kept. It was really small inside, but I guess they must have had a girl who loved horses...just like Tori..!

Barrie and David live near Cardiff. This is the building of Cardiff Castle along the outer wall. It had a large open room at the bottom and people were sitting at round tables outside in the nice sunshine drinking coffee.
WE had spectacular sunshine and weather while our visit to Wales..which David told us that they have about 5 days of sunshine....which we planned perfectly to coincide with our trip! It was absolutely beautiful. This church is where Roahl Dahl was christened. Barrie thinks it was moved from it's original location to the seaside here in Wales. It was in a pier area, and there is a lovely view of the bay.

July 6-7 2007 - Visiting the QUEEN

Well, we stayed at the Queen Mary in beautiful LONG BEACH CA!

The Queen is a OLD Ship, but it is still a beautiful ship. It is hard to imagine going across the Atlantic on a ship, but that's what they used to do before they had airplanes!

We did have a fun time, and I think it would've been more enjoyable had others gone with us, but it was a nice 'vacation' away from home and not far to drive.

Arroyo Grande

Auntie Ruby and Uncle Kinjiro took us to this town called Guadalupe, and to this restaurant that cooks beef, and lives with cow hides all over the walls, and windows and chairs. It used to be a hang out for movie stars and old time Celebrities on their way up the coast to the Bay Area....FAR WESTERN TAVERN. It was a town right out of the 1950's!!!!

It was a great restaurant, and had wonderful food. We were stuffed! We stood outside and sorry to say, i didn't have my camera with me so I got this on my cell phone, outside the restaurant......
Tori's team did fairly well in the tournament, winning though,by only a few points...2 to 4 points. It was very close. The last game, we played against Arroyo Grande...well, they stacked their team, and we ended up losing by only 5 points..but, it was a loss.....too bad..
Tori has been out of playing so this was the first time since April 29th that she has played basketball. She only played on Saturday and Sunday....but, she did get to score a few points...
